General Questions

What do I need to bring to an appointment?

Just a photo ID.

Do I need an appointment?

We encourage you to schedule an appointment by calling 208-892-9474 or requesting an appointment online. Walk-ins are welcome but may have to wait as scheduled patients take priority.

What does it cost?

All in-house services are free. Lab fees may apply.

If I’m under 18, do I need my parents’ permission?

Because of the Sexual Health Reproductive laws, we are able to provide pregnancy and STD testing to you without parental consent. We also strive to provide all of our services at the lowest cost possible so that there is no need for services to be billed to you or your guardian’s insurance provider. Because STD and pregnancy testing can often lead to a wide range of follow-up discussions, we encourage all of our clients to talk to a family member or friend that they trust. We pride ourselves in making your health and confidentiality our top priority.

Can I bring someone with me?

We encourage you to bring someone who will support you. Your guest will be able to join you for some parts of your confidential appointment at your request.

What can I expect when I come?

First, you will meet with a client advocate to talk about your pregnancy options if you’re coming in for a pregnancy test. If you’re coming in for STI testing, you’ll meet with an advocate who will share relevant sexual health and healthy relationship information and resources with you. Then, you’ll meet with a nurse to either go over your pregnancy test result or to get your STI testing done. You will come back in about a week to receive results of STI testing.

Do you provide the abortion pill or in-clinic abortions?

We provide medically accurate information about abortion procedures. We provide you with a free limited ultrasound to determine a viable pregnancy and to see how far along in pregnancy you are. This information helps determine the type of abortion procedure available to you. WISH Medical does not offer or refer for abortion.

What’s the difference between an STI and an STD?

STI stands for Sexually Transmitted Infection, which is curable. STD stands for Sexually Transmitted Disease, which is lifelong and has no cure.
